weekly activities in Clil:

• Every Tuesday evening: Pizza night and locally brewed beer at Silverman’s Bakery
• Every Thursday afternoon: Local market at the communal playground where villagers come to sell their organic fruit and veg, pastries, and pizza washed down with Indian chai
• Every other Thursday: Sacred Singing Circle where locals meet at Tipi Garden to chant mantras around the fire

Clil is the perfect spot to enjoy day hikes and explore the stunning local scenery and nature.
Below are some of our favourite hikes.

Clil village to Yehiam Fortress
Green and white trail
Duration: 1.5 hours (3 hour round trip)
Easy to moderate

This gorgeous hike takes you directly from our Guesthouse to the ancient fortress of Yehiam, through one of the most diverse plant and wildlife areas of the region. The green and white trail is very well marked taking you through plentiful olive groves and forests, meandering along the waddi (dry stream) through the valley, up the mountain side to the fortress. The last 20 minutes or so are a steep uphill climb but the views as you go make it worthwhile! The fortress is worth spending an hour or so exploring and costs 15 shekles to enter. You can either follow the same path back to Clil or hitch a ride back.

Clil to Yanuch
Blue and white trail
Duration: 2.5 hours (5 hour round trip)
Easy

This beautiful hike takes you from our Guesthouse to the old Druz village of Yanuch. The blue and white trail is well marked taking you through plentiful olive groves and forests, along the hills North of Clil. Yanuch is a peaceful Druz village. You can either follow the same path back to Clil or hitch a ride back.

Clil surrounding areas
Clil covers a large area with no boundaries so it is easy to just take yourself off along one of the many goat trails to enjoy the wild flowers, birds and wildlife.

Horse Riding:

A couple of horse ranches offer one hour or two hour horse riding tours with a guide all year round to explore the local area. It is also possible to take horse riding lessons here.

Ceramics and glass workshops at Jara Studio:

Batya, a glass artist, and her husband, Alon, a ceramic artist, work In their “Jara studio”. They design and create unique works of art, thus continuing and renewing a tradition of glass and ceramic workshops that existed in the area since ancient times.

Soul Retreat Centre:

Just 5 minutes from the guesthouse this soul retreat centre offers mediation, vispassana and yoga classes. The centre is run on a donation basis only and visitors are always welcome to come and join.
